Wusak, second head-man of Tuinem village. The characteristic Tangkhul cloth is red and black with white stripes. These are woven in Tuinem itself. Weaving among the Tangkhuls is not a task carried out by women of every household, but is concentrated as an industry in two or three villages of which Tuinem is one. The cloth is fine and of extremely closely-woven cotton. It is virtually windproof and I have often worn one; it is warmer than a coat or jacket.
